Pediatric Emergency Care Committee:

The purpose of the Pediatric Emergency Care Committee (PECC) is to advise the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on matters related to emergency medical services (EMS) for children pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S.) Section 25-3.5-204 and applicable regulations. The PECC also advises the Department on implementation of the federal EMS for Children State Partnership Grant program. In particular the PECC shall:

  • Advise the Department on EMS and trauma system issues related to the care of children.
  • Provide clinical expertise and advice from a pediatric perspective as requested to the Department, other Departmental Committees, the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Committee (SEMTAC) and the Emergency Medical Practice Advisory Council (EMPAC).
  • Review and recommend strategies for the implementation of the EMS for Children State Partnership Grant.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the emergency care of Children.
