First Wave of EMS Evidenced Based Guidelines Published in Prehospital Emergency Care

Following more than three years of work initiated by NHTSA and the EMS for Children Program at HRSA, the first wave of EMS Evidenced Based Guidelines (EBGs) was published as a supplement to Prehospital Emergency Care in January of 2014. EBGs are intended to serve as guidance for local EMS protocol development based on a rigorous evaluation of the available evidence. See the pediatric seizure guideline at the Prehospital Emergency Care website. The first three published guidelines are also available in PDF format under “Resources” and Pediatric Clinical Care” on this website.
